We have spent the last three days in Las Vegas, Nevada

sunny

Friday afternoon we left for Las Vegas, Nevada and today we returned home to Orange County. After getting home from Las Vegas this evening, the girls spent a few hours at a party being hosted by the English correspondents for all the French students.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: WOW ... we had an incredible time! Alice thought Las Vegas was amazing. There are some historical points and some cool things to see on the way, including historic Route 66. Nicole had wanted to take Alice to our favorite American hamburger place called In-N-Out so we had dinner in Las Vegas there. She thought it was really good and we learned that the word ketchup is both the same in English and French. We spent Friday night at my parents home in their tropical guest house. My parents, Jerry and Sandy, have a very cool resort-style home with a country club, golf course an incredible pool and a koi pond. We were there just overnight, but the girls had a lot of fun. My parents took us to a wonderful buffet brunch Saturday morning. We learned that in France there is not a word for brunch, so we introduced Alice to American brunch, something we really enjoy here. Brunch in America is typically a weekend meal, lasts for a couple of hours and is usually eaten between 10 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. It is basically a late breakfast, combining breakfast and lunch where we serve breakfast and lunch foods for the same meal. It was an interesting concept for Alice.

It's getting late here, we're all very tired from our trip so we will post some photos tomorrow.

Love and blessings to everyone ...

We took Alice to a nice shop in Las Vegas that has lots of make-up and perfume. She was able to try some lip gloss and we bought her some (from our American favorite, Estee Lauder, a very popular brand in America) for her to take home to France.

There are lots of fun things to see in the streets. This is a man dressed up as a robot and the girls posed for a photo with him.

Here's a picture of our suite at the Rio in Las Vegas. We had a great view of the strip!

Sunday morning, we met my parents at Church. Alice said she liked it and the main difference between Church in America and France is that is is much more casual here. We sit, we sing, we worhip, we even bring our coffee and drinks into Church. It was a nice morning worshiping and we were glad we had a chance to go.

There are many limousines in both Orange County, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. It is not uncommon and we have all been in many. Alice liked all the limo's and wanted her picutre in front of one.
